CloverEats: Taste of China in New Haven
Taste of China seems to be, like Chao Chao, another nicer version of your average Chinese restaurant. There’s a lot of good stuff offered in their pages, and the setting is definitely classier than the to-go Chinese restaurant a few doors down. The cocktails were mediocre; I’d recommend skipping them and going to a real bar for drinks after the tasty, tasty dinner.
I love duck wraps, and the wraps here had a great mild, floury flavor and texture. The duck was tender, flavorful, moist, all the things that duck should be. Fred loved his chicken with pine nuts dish so much that he insisted we come back a couple times in the last few weeks just for more of it. We’ve also ordered takeout from them.
Overall, a solid Chinese restaurant, a bit pricey but you pay for the luxury of the dine-in experience. Check them out on Yelp or at their website!
