Most of the fun is watching the rolls being made.
Otherwise, it’s ice cream.
Good graphic design.
Less claustrophobic than my other Chinatown go-to ice cream place, Chinatown Ice Cream Factory.

Several people recommended Nong’s to me when they heard I was visiting Portland. There was a long line out the door despite us arriving pretty late in the evening, but we were able to find seats outside. They were unfortunately out of their alcoholic smoothies but we had amazing chicken!

Tiny little ramen joint. Only cash. You descend and sit crouched over a counter where feet away noodles are dropped into vats of boiling water and then plopped into your plate. How could you get closer to the real deal? Yelp.

Sour Cukes

Jam Jar and Apple Pie Moonshine

Buttermilk fried chicken, BBQ, grits

Turkey Leg

Meatloaf, whipped potatoes, frizzled onions, green bean pickled slaw

I love pickles and Jacob’s Pickles serves up fantastic ones and lots more. The portions are ridiculously generous, leading to a humungous turkey leg that could have fed a small family.

We stopped by this modern coffee shop as a break from the old school authenticity in Flushing. The rose coffee, not something I would have imagined to be tasty, was actually amazing. Yelp.
