CloverEats: a healthy brunch at Juicy Kitchen
I’m always on the lookout for the best brunch spot. While downtown Ann Arbor has a vast array of great, indulgent options, I sometimes find myself too sleepy to deal with the headache of finding parking, and dislike the too-full feeling that occurs after a mimosa and heavily-syruped french toast. I found Juicy Kitchen on Yelp, and it sounded like the perfect brunch restaurant!
Located a bit out in the northwest direction, Juicy Kitchen can be found in a humble strip mall. This means that parking is a piece of cake! Furthermore, there is room for some outdoor tables, which we sat at and enjoyed the morning breeze. The interior is very sweet and homey, and the staff are most welcoming. The menu boasts a wide array of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options, which I always like to see, despite not having any dietary restrictions myself.
I thoroughly enjoyed tasting all the dishes we ordered. From the wonderfully silky breakfast smoothie to the wholesome crackly banana bread, everything felt healthy! My French Toast had just a touch of sweetness, and I liked how the Eggs Benedict came with kale. It’s rare to find a tasty brunch spot that doesn’t also leave you feeling hungover from the decadence, but I actually felt energized after our meal here.

Good Morning Sunshine – “A slice of our whole grain Crackly Banana Bread w/fresh fruit, natural peanut butter,
Greek yogurt & a drizzle of maple syrup.”
There were some comments on Yelp on the price/portion ratio, but I actually thought we received just the right amount of food, with a price that was plenty reasonable and on par with most of the brunches in Ann Arbor. I hear they offer prepared dinners for take-out, which I’d certainly like to try!

French toast – “Avalon organic soft whole wheat bread layered w/light cream cheese, maple syrup caramelized apples, cinnamon & raisins. Topped w/toasted walnuts & served w/warm maple syrup.”
Overall, I really enjoyed my meal at Juicy Kitchen. If you’re looking for a healthier brunch option that’s still tasty, I recommend them! Check them out on Yelp or at their website.
