CloverEats: El Harissa Market Cafe in Ann Arbor

ElHarissa-9

Fred suggested we try El Harissa Market for dinner, it’s a small deli/cafe on the northwest side of Ann Arbor, near Juicy Kitchen. True to its name, it feels like a market. There are shelves with everything from local tomatoes to jasmine tea in tin cans.

ElHarissa-4I loved the use of unusual ingredients in their deli offerings.  I can’t remember the last time I was so excited to try different things.  The blue potatoes in their version of a caprese salad are absolutely beautiful!  Everything we got was delicious.  My salad came with an amazing dressing that had just a hint of garlic that was perfect.

They also had a wide range of gelato made by a local Italian family.  The employees happily offered samples of their favorites, of which we tried a risotto that tasted like cinnamon rice pudding!  I also really liked lavender honey, spiced hazelnut fig, and Turkish roast.
