Snapshot: Mango Thai in Rochester, MN

It snowed quite a bit on our second day in Rochester.  Luckily, we only had to step outside for a second, taking the Skyway from the Doubletree hotel to Mango Thai.  The restaurant had a really nice feel to it, with lots of flowers and mirrors.  I started off with a friendly glass of Canti Moscato.  It was light, sweet, and fruity.

I got Pad See Ewe and Fred got the Panang Curry.  Our waitress explained that they could only tone down the spice level a little bit, but that the Panang Curry wouldn’t be too spicy.  Unfortunately, it was still way too spicy.  My Pad See Ewe was also a big disappointment, with dry beef, terrible yellowing broccoli, salty and unflavored noodles.

IMG_6309At least the sticky mango rice for dessert was tasty!

IMG_6310Unfortunately, there was only one waitress taking care of the six tables that were there during lunch hour; the poor girl had to keep running all over the restaurant.

Overall, a disappointment. Check them out on Yelp or at their website.
