CloverEats: brunch at Jefferson Market and Cakery in Ann Arbor

I hadn’t previously heard about Jefferson Market and Cakery, but stumbled upon it during a search for Ann Arbor’s best brunch places. It’s a little bit away from the downtown area, in the Old West Side neighborhood, which meant parking was wonderfully available. The atmosphere was very sweet and cute. We arrived shortly after it opened at 10AM on Sunday, and it was already bustling with activity. There isn’t a lot of seating available, but one of the servers helped us rearrange some chairs so that we could sit together at the community table.

I had heard great things about their pancakes, and so ordered a set with chocolate chips. They were nice and fluffy, and thicker than most other pancakes. My boyfriend got the Mt. Rushmore Plate, “hash browns, roasted red peppers, Baby Bella mushrooms, red onions, spinach, and eggs sautéed together. Topped with cheddar cheese. A delicious vegetarian scramble!” The hash was crispy and tasty, and the eggs were fantastic. It was a very flavorful dish.  It was too early in the morning for me to try the cake, but I’d definitely come back sometime for an afternoon sweet snack!

Check them out on Yelp or at their official website!
