CloverEats: Ann Arbor’s new Ruth’s Chris Steak House
I had seen the renovations going on on Fourth for some time, but it wasn’t until last week that I actually saw Ruth’s Chris was now open! Of course we had to stop by. We had just gone to Chop House for their birthday deal, and had a great meal, and so steak was on our minds. I know there are many locations of Ruth’s Chris Steak Houses, but this was the first one I have gone to. The call I got to confirm my reservation was rather rude, so I didn’t have the greatest expectations. Fortunately, the rest of the evening was quite pleasant.
There’s a nice sunlit entrance, and also a darker back area. It’s definitely got a very classy feel. Our table was pre-sprinkled with confetti, which was a cute touch. We started off with cocktails, all of which were absolutely great. I had the Ruby Red Greyhound, which had grapefruit vodka and St. Germaine, and was great.
We started off with some soup and two salads. The soup was hearty enough to be a meal on its own. Our waitress kindly split the two salads we ordered onto four plates, so we could all have even amounts, which was a nice touch.
Then we went for a mix of chicken and steak. They offer a wide range of accompaniments. I got my filet mignon with a bleu cheese crust. Fred got his Oscar style, with crabcake on top and bearnaise sauce. The chicken was also great, very tender and juicy. We also ordered some spinach for greens, in an attempt to be healthy.
Lastly, there was a dessert to celebrate our upcoming marriage!
Overall, a great dining experience and a nice steakhouse addition to the Ann Arbor dining scene.
